Which entrances do PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten students use?
PK4 and Kindergarten students use the back entrance of the school for both arrival and dismissal.
PK3 students use the entrance on the far side of the building. Each entrance is located near the classrooms for that grade level.

What are the morning drop-off options for families?
Families may choose Walk‑Up or Drive‑Thru drop‑off. Walk‑Up families park in a designated spot and walk their child to the correct entrance, using the crosswalk for safety. Drive‑Thru families stay in their vehicle while staff assist students as they exit the car. Hug Zones are available at each entrance so families can say goodbye with love.

How does early pick‑up work at Uphaus?
Students must be picked up before 2:30 PM for early dismissal. After that time, staff are preparing for end‑of‑day procedures. Families should notify the teacher in advance and plan to arrive early, as students cannot be called ahead from class. Families must show a driver’s license when signing out.

How does traffic flow during arrival and dismissal?
PK4 and Kindergarten families use the right lane to reach the back of the building, allowing PK3 families to pass on the left. PK3 families use the left lane to reach their entrance. After passing the PK4/Kinder doors, traffic patterns shift: PK3 cars pull to the right to unload or load, while PK4/Kinder traffic continues on the left. Families should avoid entering the PK3 exit lane unless they are PK3 families.

What reminders help keep arrival and dismissal safe and smooth?
Families should avoid blocking traffic, speeding, or using cell phones in the school zone. The entrance and exit of the circle drive must remain clear so buses, daycare vans, and visitors can access the front drive. Families should drive slowly, have children ready to exit the car, seat children on the back passenger side, and place the school‑issued car sign in the windshield for faster dismissal. Families may not walk children to classrooms.

Las familias no deben bloquear el tráfico, acelerar ni usar el celular en la zona escolar. No deben bloquear la entrada o salida de la rotonda. Deben manejar despacio, tener al niño listo para bajar, sentarlo en el lado trasero derecho y colocar el cartel del carro en el parabrisas. No se permite acompañar a los estudiantes a los salones.

What happens if a student arrives late?
The parking lot gate closes exactly at 7:40 AM. Families must be inside the gate by 7:39 AM to use the drop‑off lanes. If arriving at or after 7:40 AM, families must park on the street and walk their child to the front office for a tardy pass.
